Druid Overview

Druids are masters of the natural world. Like the Ranger class, Druids have the ability to track. This is a useful skill if you ever get lost and one that is not used as much as it should be. Druids also have one of the best skills in the land in Barkskin. Barkskin lowers the druid's armor class or AC by three. This is very helpful skill, especially if you dislike being whacked by perms repeatedly. Transform is the last of the Druid's skills. Transform is similar to the alchemist's transmute, basically changing pipe weeds into a useful item (as of now the only item transformable is pipe weed). Druids are also resistant to poisons. Druids are a very difficult class to play. They lack sorely in both HP and MP and they do not have any offensive buffs to speak of. The saving grace of the druid class is the fact that they can have very low AC, and thus not get hit as often as another class would.

Suggested Statistics

str: 12 dex: 3 con: 3 int: 18 pie: 18
Pros:
These are the most common stats, they are similar to a mage's since players like to use their druids for casting and healing. Druids are similar to clerics as far as attacking, but without the cleric's vigor casting bonus and less hp/mp. However, you will have a HP penalty due to the low con.
Cons:
One problem with using these stats is that the druid does not track well without dexterity or resist-poison well without constitution.

str: 12 dex: 18 con: 6 int: 15 pie: 3
Pros:
Using halfling [help hobbit], these stats give a wide range of skills. With the dex bonus and barkskin, you not have to tick hit points as often as other classes might have to.
Cons:
Slow ticking

Training Information

Druid training has been somewhat altered and I don't have the time to investigate.

Level Information

Levels 1-9 are done at the Druidian Temple in Celduin (marked b on the Celduin map). 1-6 require no quests.

Level 7: You must get a book of healing. These are dropped in the south portion of the Shrine of Moradin in Celduin (marked 16 on the Celduin map). I believe it's dwarven worshippers that carry them.

Level 8: You need a book of herbs, dropped by druid herbalists. They spawn in Etolos. The best place I found for them is two east, one north of the training spot, marked 1 on the Etolos map.

Level 9: You're looking for a druidian crown. It's dropped by druid worshippers. They spawn in Etolos, and generally the best place to find them is the same place you went to find druid herbalists.

Levels 10-12 are done in Etolos Forest. The training spot is marked 1 on the Etolos map. These are very easy quests. Go to the herb dealer (marked 8 on the Leviathan Way map). She sells 3 items. Dried herbs cost $3k, and are the quest item for 10. Mistletoe costs $6k, and is for 11. Level 12's is the mortar and pestle, which costs $10k.

Training for levels 13+ is done in Parth in the library's Golden Door. It is marked as "4" on the map of Parth in the map section. There are no items or keys required.
